The Galaxy Hotel Athens operates since 1970 in Alimos, a suburb of the capital of Greece, only six miles from the center of Athens. The area in which the hotel is situated has the advantage of being very close to any attraction in Athens and yet, away from the busy center. The commercial area is only a short walk and one can find almost everything one needs, hairdresser, dry cleaner, banks, shops, etc. Opposite the hotel, just in front of the sea there is a park where one can take a relaxing walk, let the children play in the newly built playground one of the best in Athens, or even swim and relax on the beach, which is near the premises. Very close is also the Marina of Alimos, the largest marina in Greece to rent a sailing yacht and explore the beautiful sea of Aegean and the world famous Greek islands. The hotel can arrange a guided sightseeing of Athens or a journey with a group to the center of Greece. There are small daily cruises to the islands close to Athens or even multi day cruise to the Cyclades, Dodecanese, and Turkey. The hotel can also help one rent a car, help one issue a ticket to almost anywhere, find out about schedules for ships, trains and buses, etc. A three-digit security code required at time of booking to guarantee all reservations. It features 46 rooms divided in 39 double rooms, five single rooms, a room for disabled person, and a suite. Most of the rooms have unlimited views to the Saronic Gulf and all were fully renovated in 2002. Double rooms can easily become triples with the addition of an extra bed.
